Hey everyone, TheDude here...

So I have started gathering up supplies to begin the fall/winter grow prep for the next seasons' outdoor...

So, to start I built two Stinkbud cloners:

http://www.skunkskool.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=12989&stc=1&d=1256184206

Here's a rough estimate of cost to build 1 cloner:

18 Gallon Rubbermaid container $8.50
396 Gallon submersible pump $50
1/2" PVC Pex pipe $3
4 1/2" PVC elbows $2
4 1/2" PVC caps $2
3 1/2" PVC tees $2
10 360 degree EZ-clone misters $12
23 2" net pots $6
24 2" neoprene inserts (not pictured) $10

Total $95.50

To go with this I have a cycle timer in 5 minute intervals: 1min on 4min off...

It's just a start but I should have more updates in the coming weeks...

So I will leave with this question: What solution would you recommend for rooting cuttings in this aero unit? Would plain water do or should there be some concentration of rooting hormone included?

in my easy cloner i use just plain water. some of my dq cuttins are showing sick roots in 8 days and it makes it easier to clean the unit with no chemicals.

What you want to make sure is theres enough water in the unit so your pump dont heat the water to much ideal temps is like 72-75 degrees for fastest rootings. fill ur water to just under the misters dont cover them. also an air stone or air pump whatever for the water is good also. ass long as you clean it between clone cycles you should be good. but if you just run conctant prepeptual cloneing with out clean you will run into problems. if the temps start going over 80 you will start to get mushy stems and they wont root.

you did a great job on those units tho. they look sick man

Great, thanks for the advice! So straight tap water or RO water, no pHing?

I'll make sure to clean it regularly

yeah just tap water. people use rooting gels and such but the differnce is like a day maybe if any.when it comes to clones ph dosent affect them. i forget why but i read it somewere. im sure one these guys can tell u either way if it does or dont. you got an airstone?i think thats part of it also

pH only affects nutrient uptake... clones don't need nutes.

need roots first to need ph

Thanks for the link Dago, but

$19.90
+shipping
+taxes
+customs
+convert to CAN $
+credit card info tied to hydroponic shop in US
= more than I want to spend!

The cloners do kick ass, however for these purposes I only need two:
The mothers and rooted cuttings will be hand-watered in soilless medium until ready for transplant outside around March...No indoor flowering this season...

yeah i heard about that place canada before. the guy that started that place was from America, rumor has it he was bitten by a wolf and became very sick. then strange things started to happen around the villages. at 1st is was like farm animals were missing or found mauled. One day a little girl was found missing(hmmm... found? missing?) the villagers were enrage and went to this halfman/half wolfs farm and beat him within an inch of his life then torched his home with him in it. fire was everywhere but the moon was full. he burst out of the smoldering flames and grab the village leaders 17 year old(legal in some states)daughter and fled north never to be seen or heard from again.
there have been rumors of a population up north but thats all they are rumors. Every once in a while you might see a traveler with a molson or a bottle of crown royal or even hear stories about this mythical BC BUD. but there just rumors...or are they?

Its no problem I assure you...

I'm sure I can find them cheaper as well, but this hydro shop is the only one near me that stocks mostly all of what I need. I am willing to pay a little extra so long as I don't need to have it shipped and can pay CA$H!

If you intend to ever move them out of those net cups i recommend you cut the bottoms out to make it easier to remove the rooted clones. I have also found that the little disposable cups they sell for rinsing your teeth after you brush work just as well and are much cheaper.

I also use nothing but distilled h20 straight from the bottle to root my clones, works great for me.
