I had something similar happen to me once. I'd just gotten a new (to me) '85 Mustang convertible and was out for a joy ride before taking my son to the dentist. A cop stopped me and the first thing he asked me was where I was going. I told him I didn't think that was any of his business. He said, "Well, you don't live in this neighborhood, so why are you down here." I told him I thought it was still a free country and that I was free to go anywhere I wanted but he was getting more and more angry. He made up some lame excuse for why he stopped me, cause there was no front plate on my car. (Yeah, and nowhere to put one without drilling holes in my bumper either.) I finally did tell him where I was going but I wouldn't do it if it happened again. I didn't want to get into it with him with my son there with me. I don't like cops!

I just figured we could all learn from this...you know my story. They did more than a cursory search of my car and then popped my trunk even though they found nothing in the passenger part of my car. When the trunk popped, I said something and that's when they arrested me for suspicion of DUI LOL. Of course they eventually found some stems and less than a gram of shake. They also pulled my pants down, left the boxers on, searching for more "drugs" in a public parking lot. I would not talk and that pissed them off even more, I did nothing wrong. The District Court Judge ruled the search illegal, hence no possession or paraphernalia charges were filed. However I wouldn't have had to submit my blood, which I did cause here in PA if you don't comply with that then you get refusal (auto 72 hours in prison, and 1 year suspension of driving privileges). However my lawyer and I were told since I signed the form they could keep it as evidence and I got a DUI. Catch 22 here in PA, so what were my options? Well if I had a lot of money I could keep fighting it....sad that this can happen.

I will do my time/penalty but there was really no hope for me....very sad. Never trust them ever. I cooperated fully by giving my name, and addy after my arrest. That is full cooperation. The whole tell us and we will cut you a break is bull, I already knew that and kept my mouth shut.

Just want to make sure everyone knows their rights, that's all.

I just put my shit in the glovebox when Im riding and lock it. That takes care of anything im my state unless they get a dog and it strikes on the glovebox...
Locked containers arent accessable immediately by the driver so they cant be searched without a warrant, the only reason for a warrant such as that would be the dogs "testimony" that you have drugs in there .

same thing I would do when the DTF asked me to "step over here and remove your bookbag so we can search you" when I was in walking through Atlanta @ 17 years old. (they cannot search underage minors there without direct consent from a parent who was no where around @ the time So they could only do a weapons search of the pockets on my jeans)

Id tell them I know my rights and they are going to need a warrant to do that. Till they had one I felt no need for them to look in there as I was doing nothing wrong and wont be subjected to any bullshit.


If they opened it anyays I would simply say, "your employers and yourself may want to start finding a damn good lawyer" There is no way to not go to jail if they catch you with something...But there is always the defense of illegal search and seizure if you can pin them to it.. And then any evidence obtained thereof isnt admissible in court.


Know your rights, stay safe within them, and keep your mouth shut no matter what they say they have on you or offer to you.

KOCHAB what state do you live in? if you wern't doing any thing wrong when they stoped you they violated your civil rights they can stop you to TALK but have to have at least REASONALBE SUSPICION TO SEARCH YOU and walking down the street is not that and they CAN and WILL search a minor if they have REASONAL SUSPICION i.e. wearing a winter coat in the summer they cannot detain and question a minor without a parent/guardian. i know for a fact in florida if you try that your fucked because they are going to get a dog there in a timely manner. as far as most states go i you are driving and in possesion of said car and keys you are going to subjetc to what they call "constructive possesion" with in your reach. i know live back up north. i do know that speeding and other so said traffic violations are not always PC to search your car. but if you get asked and refuse they are always going to fuck with you. i know in the state i live now lets you carry a concealed weapon but if you have it with you when you are stoped they can search your car right there no questions. this is just my 2 cents

I was in Ga then as a young buck. Carrying a bookbag with bud and pills in it running it for someone else as a mule. The way it was then, no parents and no suspicion, No search.
But your right most time if you say fuck you to them, they become assholes about things.

yeah young buck, I reffer to it as a time when I was still doing stupid shit, the time before I decided to make something of myself and live to see another few years/settle down...

Thats why I decided to move out of the city once and for all more or less. Out here in the sticks the only trouble I can get into is my grows.
