I think you are fine...I think, just be sure to change your clothes or spritz with some water when you visit both rooms.

Nature or nurture. :Winking:
As a layperson, I'd say genetics are genetics regardless of a plants health unless you screw up the plant so bad it doesn't have the necessary building blocks to make proper pollen.

yes the pollen will be the same genes in the end. But you wont be able to see the dads specific traits as well too. Not a big loss in the end IMO If your just wanting to make a cross to grow for smoke as F1's are pretty stable anyways .

its not so important when to take the pollen it will only hapen when it is ready. you want to actualy do the pollentaing after 3 weeks of flower to allow for good pistil counts and then produce more healthy mature seeds.

Thanks for all the help guys. I think I was reading that you want to put the pollen on in the 4th week of flower. Does that sound right?[/b]
depends on the strain and how developed they are. force flowered seed plants may not be ready.
if you want a lot of seeds then it's best to wait till you have colas before doing the business. around mid flower.

It takes about 6 weeks for the seeds to form nice and well. Sometimes a bit longer so be prepared to leave them after they are finished if you must for the seeds to finish up. I try not to ever sed before the 3rd or 4th week of flower.

You know a good way to pollenate single colas is to put some pollen on the inside of a paper bag and turn the fans off, then you take the bag and put it around a cola, give it a good 10 second shake, sprinkle more pollen into the bag, and repeat, it will be very effectivly pollenated and the rest of the plant should be fine.

ya if you dont do it in a bag, you would most likely pollenate the whole plant. the fans and breeze in the air alone will spread it all over the rest of the plant.

Don't the pisilts on the painted flower turn brown if the pollination has taken....???
greenacres

yes once the pistills are pollenated they brown and dies off.

decent looking boy there. now if you want to slow him down from busting a nut then keep him under a simple 24 hour light. they are real easy to care for. then when ypou are ready to let him do his thing then switch to 12/12 then he the pods will start to swell and open with the pollen.

as soon as he is hit with 12/12 one time there will be no stopping him, hell continue to flower under 24/0 light even.

mine didnt. it didnt stop but it slowed down the flower production till i was more ready.

Its Usually damn near impossible to get a male to stop flowering. Your very lucky.

again, didnt stop but slowed down. this let me pollenate the female for a longer time.

- yeah, I put my males outside last summer and gave them VERY LITTLE care, like I would drop in and water them when they were droopy, lol. They had been inside vegging on 12/12, and I put them out during the longest days of the year in June. I can say with some degree of definitiveness that neither the quality of my best Blackberry Male nor my Fucking Incredible male were diluted in any way. That BB is spreading around some interesting phenotypes, especially with the G-13 Haze......
- After doing nearly the same thing as you I have already reaped the reward of one particularly early plant (that was also harvested a bit early, lol....) and will be reaping plenty more rewards over the next few weeks. That male does look good and stout. I look for nice thick stem too, I think it makes them stronger and also allows for more nutrient flow up and down from the roots to the leaves and back. Someone may have said this already but it's best to pick late-showing males. But like Kochab said if this is just doing it so you got some seeds and don't need to order any next time around then it doesn't even matter as long as he has balls and they spew pollen. Good luck man, I hope it turns out as good for you as I feel the same decision turned out for me. When there's a gaggle of pistils, knock her up (of course always use a paper bag for protection, hehe). I followed Kochab and everyone else's advice to the letter, and everything turned out great! Hey, did you say what strain they are? Fuck, I'll go check, lol.....

Leave them away from them for 6 hours is what I do after pollinating...In closed area where it cant transfer through the air...When a ton of hairs look deadened after 6hrs SOAK them down with water to get the pollen that you can off and then put them back in there when you can(provided lights wont fry them you can do it @ day, raise the light way up for a bit....)
Put a hepa filter over your boxes fans just to be extra safe....afterall that is what they were designed for more or less...pollen is an allergen and whatnot.

no prob bro. there are other suggestions Ive heard like leaving them out 24hrs and stuff but Ive never had a bunch of seeds floating around while doing it this way...
Oh yeah bagging the plants may help too if you cant get them far away after you pollinate. I think that Mj joe said hes heard of people cutting pollen with flour but i didnt see much purpose in it as its only the pollen that will make seeds anyways. That may make it easier to spread over an entire plant per say, but yu should only need a couple decent sized buds...each calyx can become a seed basically.^_^
