It can be done but you must be smart about it.

If it was me, I'd try and work a deal with the seller of the property to carry the mortgage and remit a monthly payment or such to them directly without having to go thru a mortgage company or such.

Quick claim deeds work really well, also, if they live in either Florida or Illinois, a land trust could be used.

Oh yes bribery. You don't want that big bad bank snitching you out do we? Hell no.

A down payment should not raise any red flags. You should make smaller deposits in a bank account before hand, so the money comes from a bank and not you personally (ala briefcase).

Always carry a mortgage anyway....otherwise you will be taxed at a higher rate. The govt. and the banks LIKE you to be in debt. People in debt... GO TO WORK every day!

If you have a GOOD friend or relative with a company, you can flip them your own salary in cash and they can give you weekly checks....and put you on the payroll....sort of a "no show" deal. It gives you legitimacy.

or start visiting casino's. buy $20000 worth of chips, have a drink... play a few hands, cash in your chips, collect receipt. keep receipt. visit another casino... rinse and repeat.

thanks for the replies,I think here you get flagged at the bank,if you deposit 5,000.the casino idea is good cause its tax free and you have a receit.

But there is also a receipt that you purchased the chips.... wink. All they have to do is pick up the phone....

have multiple people make smaller chip purchases for you and make sure the total sum exceeds the state/fed minimum limit that requires the casino report it (10k i believe) that way you get taxed right away on the money and it's nice and clean. service based businesses have no inventory to be audited. who says you didn't wash 100 cars last week at $10 EA? as long as you spend enough in water and soap everything would look legit....

Short cuts tend to give short results....

I think your buddy can swing the down payment by rotating small deposits into different accounts at different banks. Not different branches of the same bank, but different banks. That's the easy part.... but at some point, the bank will want to see some employment stubs to show your friend is a worthy risk.

He can always set up an S corp on himself...then pay himself by the same method. Deposit cash into a business account and start cutting weekly or bi weekly checks....

In the end, you are talking about laundering money....which is not an easy thing to do.

yeah it's £10 grand here, thought it would be $20 grand in US.

whatever the limit is, just hit it over and over again. even at 5 grand a pop, visit 20 casino's and you've cleaned 100 grand. obviously make the totals vary so there isn't an obvious pattern.

they'd need to launch a major investigation to figure it out, and for what? a couple hundred grand?

it's the best way i know of to clean cash. there is the business angles too, getting paid for work you haven't done for example.

I'm sorry to disagree, but if you walk into a bank and tell them it is all casino winnings...they will investigate...and then ur cooked. Only the folks in the casinos USED to be able to do that (mob)...which was the point of having them...but those days are long gone... there will be a knock on your door the very next day if you walk in with that line.
